Dots: The Tale of Unity

“Dots” is an ongoing series by Romina Zabihian that utilizes tea and pointillism to visually depict interconnectedness and unity. The four key elements shaping her work are:
Tea: She uses tea as a base, drawing from its significance in Iranian culture, where it symbolizes warmth, connection, and shared moments in social gatherings.
Stains: Placing a tea bag on paper creates an unpredictable stain, serving as a poetic reminder of life's uncontrollable aspects. This parallels the inability to choose one's race or ethnicity. She prompts contemplation on arbitrary divisions, advocating for a world of unity and equality.
Birds: In "Dots," birds symbolize the characters' eyes, challenging perceptions, signifying freedom of the soul, and reminding us of the deeper essence connecting all human beings.
Pointillism: Countless tiny dots form intricate pictures, symbolizing individuals coming together to create a collective force. "Dots" encourages recognizing each person's importance and the power of unity.
